It was a night of music and laughter as “The Next Country Music Star’s” David Boyd Janes and Augusta Ray took the stage to perform at “Stories, Songs, and Six Strings” hosted by David Woods. Other artists included Lee Michelle, Stagecoach Rider members Kyle and Gavin and Evan Farrell.

David performed some of his top hits including the chart-climbing “Whiskey Won’t” which was a fan favourite setting a record of being #1 on True North Country’s Indie Top 20 for 4 weeks straight.

David confesses that “Whiskey Won’t” wasn’t meant for mainstream radio. “The song was written to cast light on the effects of drinking and driving,” says David. “Country music is all about drinking, tailgate parties, and having a good time but not all good times end well. This song represents that in life, through the hard times, alcohol isn’t the way. Whiskey or any alcohol won’t solve your problems.”

Augusta’s smash hit “Vagabond” and cover of Stevie Nicks “Landslide” were crowd pleasers while David got everyone in the house “stomping” with his new song “Stomp” which he co-wrote with Sons of Daughters member Jimmy Thow.

What’s next for David Boyd Janes? David is set to play the Havelock’s Country Jamboree’s 30th Anniversary August 14-18, 2019 on not one but two dates. First, he will be opening for Gord Bamford August 14 and sharing the stage with country superstars Madeline Merlo, Meghan Patrick, Randy Bachman, Billy Currington, Brett Kissel, James Barker Band, The Washboard Union, Kansas Stone, Mackenzie Leigh Meyer, Jess and Tay & Doc Yates to name a few.
